Con un amplio margen y a través de un discurso desde el estado de Florida, Donald Trump se proclamó presidente electo de Estados Unidos, ante Kamala Harris. El magnate, que va por su segundo período, sumó 276 delegados, lo que equivale a cinco más de lo que necesitaba para volver a la Casa Blanca. A falta de que se cierren los conteos, el candidato republicano derrota por una mayoría a la actual vicepresidente Harris, candidata demócrata. Con esto, se cayó la idea de tener por primera vez una presidenta en Estados Unidos.
Según la agencia AP, los últimos conteos daban como ganador al postulante republicano por cerca de cinco millones de votos y cuatro puntos porcentuales: 51,2% contra 47,4% de Harris. «Hemos creado el movimiento político más grande de la historia», apuntó Donald Trump en su discurso.
